Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful day, this Christmas was the first year with my sister and her husband’s family, who share an equal love of cuisine as we do. My mum cooked Christmas dinner on her newly-installed Rangemaster (she ran her catering company on a 2-ring temporary hob for too long before my uncle stepped in!) for the first time, and despite the fact it was the first time she has cooked Christmas lunch (I neeedn’t have to say that everything was cooked from scratch) for so many in a good few years, everything ran as smoothly as ever and our lunch was absolutely delicious. All of this and Loums also came with me from Paris for his first British Christmas!

It was such a special day, long before these thoughtful gifts were given to me by our families. M-a-n-y posts to come, I am especially excited to start cooking through Shelina Permalloo’s ‘Sunshine on a Plate’ (having been introduced to Mauritian cooking by Loums and his mother’s cooking! I look forward to reading more from you soon and posting my own blogs from these incredible cooking tools!
